European media was shocked with an accident that a Dutch Prince got into. It was the accident of Dutch Prince Johan Friso. Prince Friso was already skiing somewhere away from the marked ski runs in the Austrian Alps. The Prince was skiing with four other people, and before they knew it, the mass of snow had hit them. The mass snow was described to be 30 meters wide and 40 meters in length. The avalanched had hit the group, around midday. The others managed to escape the avalanched but the Dutch Prince did not and this caused him to be buried within the mass of snow.
Rescuers and rescue helicopters helped in locating the Dutch Prince. Prince Friso was buried within the snow for at least 15 mins and when the rescuers had recovered him, the Dutch Prince was immediately flown by an air ambulance. The rescuers gave CPR as well in order to resuscitate the Prince. He was brought to a hospital in Innsbruck. Sources said that although the Dutch Prince Friso’s condition is stable, it is also considered as life threatening and is confined at the hospital’s intensive care unit. The Dutch Prime Minister issued a statement that said that Queen Beatrix and Princess Marbel, Prince Friso’s wife, are already at the hospital with Prince Friso.
Prince Friso together with his wife Princess Marbel and two daughters was on the town of Lech. It is where the Dutch royal family usually goes to and the Dutch Prince and his family had already been there last year for their winter holiday. That day, there had been heavy snowfalls already and there had been a warning that skiers should avoid skiing in the slopes but for some reason, the Dutch Prince and his companion failed to follow the warning. Prince Friso is already 43 years old and when he married his commoner wife, Prince Friso renounced his royal rights.
