A Purple Squirrel Found by a Couple in Pennsylvania

A mysterious purple squirrel had recently appeared and found by a couple in Pennsylvania. Connie Emert, wife of Percy Emert were recently residing at Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania.  A week ago, it was her wife who first saw the said purple hue squirrel. When she first told her husband about the purple squirrel that she saw on their yard, he didn’t actually believe it immediately. The couple had made a trap and had put some peanuts on their yard in order to attract the said purple squirrel.

A few days later, the purple squirrel was then caught by their trap. The couples were really amazed of what they had found. They had then called their neighbors to see the purple squirrel and had then taken some photos out of it and afterwards, they had then simply let it free again.

The photos that they took were then soon posted and appeared in different online sites. It had then appeared in some social media sites like facebook, twitter and even on television. A lot of speculations and controversies had then come up. Of how come that certain squirrel had its purple shade?

According to Harold Cole, the Pennsylvania Game Commission who had reviewed the case, the shade of the said purple squirrel might come in some certain reasons. He had pointed out that there is a possibility that the said squirrel had its purple color from the food it had possibly eaten that might be the local pokeberries that has a purple color. Just like the flamingos that got its color pink or orange due to the food they eat.

There is also a possibility that the said purple squirrel got its purple hue from an industrial compound, pool of paint, or chemicals but if ever it had been through to it, the squirrel might get poisoned and not survive. Right now, they are studying on the fur that was taken from the purple squirrel to find if it has been dyed or not. A report also came in last 2008 that a purple squirrel was also found in the vicinity of school in England.

The common colors of squirrels are brown, black, and red. There are also squirrels that are in the shade of white. But right now, people had discovered a purple squirrel. It’s a bit mysterious of how it came into that shade but it is possible to have a purple squirrel as what Harold Cole quoted.
